Well, we made it! The last day of 2018. What a year it has been! I am one to make New Years Resolutions, but when I was asked what word do I have for 2019 earlier this week, it really go me thinking. I never had a “word” before but there were a couple that had already come to mind. 2018 is pretty much the only year that I successfully completed my resolution. I always made a few but ended up failing after the second week. It’s just so much easier to give up, isn’t it? At the start of this year, I finally decided that I was going to put my 110% into living a healthier lifestyle. I started to eat healthier, workout, sleep better and guess what? I started to see results. I think the difference between the 500 times I “started” before and this time, is that I gave myself time and grace. I finally realzied wholeheartedly that nothing good comes easy and anything worth it takes time!
As I thought about what my “word” for 2019 would be, “Courage” kept coming to mind. Courage. To love yourself, love your neighbour. Courage to stop and help someone in need. Courage to declutter your life. Courage to leave a toxic relationship be it with a friend or girlfriend/boyfriend. Courage to chase after that dream. Courage to quit your job that you hate and find one you love. Courage to wait for that perfect someone.
So in 2019, I am going to pray for courage to have a baby even though it scares me to my core. I am going to have courage to start a YouTube channel that I have been talking about for the last 6 months. I am going to seek courage to share Jesus’s love with those that I meet.
Wishing you an incredible and blessed 2019! What is your “word of the year?”
