30th Birthday: A Letter To My 20 Year Old Self by popular Seattle lifestyle blogger Gracefully GlamIt’s my 30th birthday! Wow, I still can’t believe I am in big 3-0. It’s been so hard to comprehend that I’m not in my 20’s any longer. I am getting better, but not going to lie, it has been tough!

I am ever so grateful for so many things this past year has brought. Growing up, I hated having my birthday the day after Christmas but now I love it as I get to reflect back on the year and it’s such a great reminder of the abundance of God’s love in my life.

It’s been a hec of a decade and I thought it would be fun to write a letter to my 20 year old self on my 30th birthday. Oh how much change and growth these past ten years brought!

Dear Me,

You are going to have a whirlwind of a decade! You will get married (quite young, age 21). The love of your life will pop into your life and you will fall for him instantly (and he will say the same about you). You and Ben will have a huge wedding will find the perfect little place to start your life together not to far from your parents house.  You will open your very first business with the help of your hubby at age 24 and it’s going to be hard. But that’s OK because it will teach you SO much about life and business and all the hard stuff will be worth it in the long run. Your little sister got married shortly after you and you gained so many new nieces and nephews from your little sis and older siblings.

There will be times when you don’t know where the money will come from for the next rent, but you trust the Lord with all your heart and he is so good and will always provide. The two of you will talk about having kids – allot, but you both will feel like it’s not God’s timing yet.

You will apply for a job that you want so bad and you will pray with all your heart that it will work out. And when you get the rejection letter you will cry in your husbands arms questioning God’s why, little do you know that He has something in store so much better and you will find out what a couple months later.

You will gain weight, quite a bit but it’s OK because you have a husband who loves you just the way you are and you still look beautiful.

There will be a time when something terrible happens and your entire family is affected. You will pray so much and  will see just how much God loves your family. Even though the recovery will be long, you will see how amazing it is to have a loving family.

You will start a fashion and lifestyle blog at 28 as a creative outlet and it will turn into so much more. You will love it so much!

Trust God with all your heart and he will guide your path every step of the way.
