Blogging Tools

I often get asked questions about the Blogging tools we use to blog from our cameras and lenses to themes and hosting. Here I am listing everything we are currently using.

Camera Essentials 

Canon 5D Mark lll. This is one of the best cameras used by most professionals. If you plan on buying it with a kit lens, I suggest 24-7omm lens.

Canon 80D – This is a perfect medium budget DLSR camera. I recommend getting the 18-135mm lens if you plan on purchasing the kit lens. This is the one we are currently using.

 Canon Rebel T6i If you are just starting out and don’t have the budget for either of above, this will be the perfect starting camera. This is what we started out with and used for a year. Again, I recommend getting the 18-135mm lens if you plan to buy it with the kit lens.

If none of these are in your budget at the moment, the iPhone 7 Plus has an amazing camera on it! We use it quite a bit.

Lens 

 CANON EF 50MM F/1.8 STM LENS –  A perfect starting lens for portraits and blurred background.

CANON EF 50MM F/1.2 L USM LENS – The most expensive from the 50mm family, but so worth it!

CANON EF 24-70MM F/4.0L IS USM LENS – A great all around zoom lens.

SIGMA 17-50MM F/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD – Great all around zoom lens for APS-C sensor only.

Equipment & Accessories 

VANGUARD ALTA PRO 264AB 100  – A stable, well built and easy to travel with tripod.

JOBY GORILLAPOD SLR ZOOM – Very portable and easy to grab on the go! Also adjusts to a pretty much any surface.

RODE VIDEOMIC ME  – Great way to improve your iPhone audio!

RODE VIDEOMICRO  – Perfect starting microphone from the Rode family. Really great way to improve the audio on your camera. If your budget allows, check out the other 4 microphones from the link.

LIMOSTUDIO 700W PHOTOGRAPHY SOFTBOX LIGHT LIGHTING KIT – We use these when we do flatlays and indoor photo shoots. Awesome to have around when natural light isn’t enough or available.

SANDISK EXTREME PRO 64GB SDXC UHS-I MEMORY CARD  –  Really love the speed of this card when you shoot in burst and uploading photos.

Other Equipment 

APPLE MACBOOK PRO  – We love our Macbook and it’s defiantly one that will last you a very long time.

APPLE IPAD MINI – When you don’t want to carry your laptop around, this iPad mini will do the job! We take this along on our getaways.

LOGITECH WIRELESS MOUSE – The best wireless mouse in our opinion!

KATE SPADE AGENDA/CALENDAR – This helps me stay organized! I always have this with me wherever I go. And it’s super cute too!

BATTERY PACK – You never know when you will run out of battery so this is a fast way to charge your devices on the go. Charge your Iphone 7 plus 5 times.

IPHONE 7 PLUS BATTERY CASE – Doubles your battery life.

Photo Editing 

PicMonkey  This is a free photo editing website however I do recommend upgrading as there are so many more amazing options to choose from! And it’s very inexpensive.

Adobe Lightroom  I use lightroom for editing most of my photos (for website and Instagram). It’s very user friendly.

My hubby bought this book (how to create stunning digital photography) when he first started and it helped him a lot.

Hosting Plans 

Blue Host I have used Blue Host ever since I started and highly recommend them!

KnownHost Is great if you have higher traffic and are operating more than one website from the same platform

Themes

Genesis Themes This is great for those who are just starting out and have little to no idea how to work  a website. They have tons of different themes available.

I also highly recommend StudioPress Themes for WordPress. All of their themes are built for their Genesis Framework.
