Last month I had the pleasure to go on a trip with Ford Canada and some amazing bloggers. I have never been to the Sunshine coast (whattt?! I know) so I was super excited to go!
The day started with everyone meeting at the Fairmont for breakfast. When I got to the hotel, it was hailing like I have never seen before! #justourluck! But thankfully we had the Ford SUV’s that kept us safe on the roads so after a yummy breakie we paired up with our driving buddy and heading for the ferries.
Thankfully the rain subsided once we got to the ferries and the weather just got better from there. On the way to the Sunshine Coast, Bella and I got to experience the Ford Edge. My husband and I took the Ford Edge to Kelowna, I went more into the car there.
I love Ford for many reasons. Their SUV’s are not only super reliable but don’t come with a huge price tag either which makes it so affordable for young families. I always feel so safe when I am driving them and bonus, they look super good too! They boast tons of features and my personal favorite would have to be the blind spot mirrors. The mom in me really loves to know that my babies will be extra safe in the car!
We hopped on the ferry and met everyone in the cafeteria for a coffee. I was so glad that the rain broke out as we were able to go on the balcony and take some photos. They views from the ferry were so gorgeous!
As I said before, I can’t believe I have never been to the Sunshine Coast! If you live in BC, it’s the perfect “staycation”. Our final destination was the breathtaking Painted Boat Resort (which I will go more into below) but we spent the day taking in the viewpoints, cafes, lunch spots and beaches.
Our first stop was Davis Bay. Such a nice place to go for walk and take in the fresh air. Great for photos too!
For lunch, we stopped in Smitty’s Oyster Bar for lunch, nuzzled in Gibson’s Wharf where all the seafood is locally caught and oh-so fresh! The food was absolutely amazing, the shrimp was to die for.
With our bellies full, we took a short walk to Robert’s Creek Pier where we gathered for some light Yoga with a local instructor. It was so relaxing! The beach was so lovely, we snapped a few photos before leaving.
The Gumboot cafe located in Roberts Creek was the perfect pit stop for sweet treats and some tea. It’s such a cute little place, reminds me of something you would see in a Hallmark movie!
It was time to head to our final destination, The Painted Resort in Madeira Park, which is about an hour’s drive from Langdale. The drive up is so lovely. The resort consists of 30 beautiful villas each equipped with 2 bedrooms, two baths and a full kitchen. (We each got our own!) At the end of the day, you can sit out on the patio and and enjoy the sunset over the Harbour. I am already planning a trip back with hubby! The resort has an incredible outdoor hot tub and and spa garden that I will be sure to experience on my next visit!
After we got settled into our Villa, we took a outdoor photography class, had the best dinner at their restaurant and ended the night making smore’s. It was such a great experience and I am so glad I got to enjoy it with my Ford family! Thank you so much for having me!
