Healthy Fast Food OptionsHope you are having a great week! I am excited about today’s post – Healthy Fast Food Options- as I am always out and about and sometimes have no choice but to grab something on the go. I know many of you can relate. I am sharing some healthy menu options from a few of my favorite fast food places. It turns out, you can eat healthy at fast food places!

Chipotle – My go-to weekend spot! I love how fresh it is. I will always opt for a bowl instead of a wrap and get half the amount of brown rice. Here is my order: any kind of meat, half the amount of brown rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, lettuce, fajita veggies, and guac. I say no to cheese and all the other dressings.

Wendy’s – My very first job was at Wendy’s and I remember always thinking of healthy swaps that I could eat! My first option is: a small chili over a side salad. SO good and filling yet super healthy! My second option is any salad that has grilled chicken (make sure it’s not breaded!) and no added toppings like croutons or candied almonds. Swap their dressing for a homemade one of your own. (I always bring a little jar from home when I know I am going out!)

McDonald’s Very similar to Wendy’s, I get a salad with no added toppings and a grilled chicken with no bun. Cut up the chicken and add it to the salad. Again, bring your own homemade dressing and you are good to go! (For a breakfast option, I go for the oatmeal with fruit but NO maple)

Starbucks – Coffee: Sometimes I will want a sweet coffee but don’t want to pay $6 for it so I will get a tall pike in a grande cup with ONE pump of whichever syrup I am feeling and a splash of almond milk. The egg white & red pepper bites are a great breakfast choice and only 170 calories. For lunch, I love the chicken and quinoa protein bowl, it has 380 calories and super filling.

Subway – The easiest place to eat healthy in my opinion! I go for a salad packed with veggies and grilled chicken. I ask for a tiny bit of sweet onion sauce for flavor and will add my own olive oil dressing. So tasty! (You can ask for a tiny bit of whichever sauce you are feeling, but not too much!)

  2. Not sure how “healthy” it is, but a family favorite of ours is Burger King. Being a vegan, I get their veggie burger (which I just found out is only vegetarian and not vegan 😩).

  3. Love all the photos 🙂 great tips on how one can eat healthy in fast food. I love americano and latte from starbucks, always have stevia with me though. Great with heavy whip cream too.

  4. It’s great that you can find healthy options at the usual fast food chains. I like that McDonald’s has actually adopted a healthier approach and they are always bringing up different initiatives, like taking out the cheeseburger from happy meals for example and replace it with fruits and vegetables.

  6. we had wendys, mcdo and kfc here in the philippines but chipotle doesn’t have any branch here that’s why i love how you describe their food. i wish they could invest here so Filipinos could have more options for health foods.
