Last month, Ben and I drove down to beautiful Kelowna to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and were lucky enough to ride in style in the gorgeous 2019 Lincoln Nautilus. This wasn’t our first trip to the Okanagan, but it was our first time staying longer than a day. We took the scenic route and it was a dream!
The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is everything! Not only is the exterior a beauty, but the interior and all the features are incredible. Before I share a bit about our trip, I want to quickly share a few features of the Nautilus that both Ben and I loved:
INTELLIGENT AWD (All Wheel Drive)
Living in BC, I never know how the weather will be! It’s truly unpredictable and having AWD is something that is very important to Ben and I especially for when we have kids.
Intelligent AWD uses sensors to constantly monitor traction. It delivers torque to the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maximize grip, typically before wheelslip can even occur. We didn’t experience any of that on this trip because it was only September, but come mid-October, the coquihalla hwy becomes extremely dangerous to drive through.
PANORAMIC VISTA ROOF
We absolutely loved the panoramic roof! The evenings were beautiful so Ben and I opened the sunroof, put our chairs all the way down and just enjoyed the sunset from the car. It’s so great in the summer when the sun is shining with it all the way open.
AVAILABLE ULTRA-COMFORT SEATS WITH ACTIVE MOTION
Do you ever sit in traffic thinking, I would love a massage right about now? The Nautilus features Ultra-Comfort front seats with Active Motion offer a wide range of adjustability. With 11 independent air cushions, seven of which offer massage, these seats can help decrease muscle fatigue, aches and pains. Yes please!
Other features that we loved was the hands-free power liftgate (which I’m sure comes in so hand for when you have kids!), heated seats and steering wheel for when it’s freezing cold out and I appreciate how the mirrors fold in when you lock the doors to protect them against dings. (This happened to me once and I lost a mirror when another vehicle hit it with their door.)
Our Anniversary Trip
We stayed at the Eldorado Resort, a lakeside property with the most stunning views. Hotel Eldorado was established in 1926. Can you believe it? It’s very well known for its heritage and they do such an amazing job of maintaining it. We felt so at home instantly, it has such a small-town feel, everyone is so friendly, and the restaurants are open late (10pm) so you can enjoy the beautiful sunset and evening crisp air. This side of the Resort is home to the Lakeside Dining and The Boardwalk. Oh My Gosh, I cannot even tell you how delicious the food was. I love that they take advantage of all the incredible products available in the Okanagan and work with local suppliers for most of their menu selections.
Super family friendly with indoor and outdoor pools, fitness area and home to one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, Smack DAB. . The rooms are very spacious and homey. When you check in with kids, they let your little ones check in as well and are treated to a little gift. So sweet! Ben and I were already dreaming up how fun it would be to bring our kids here one day! The outdoor pool has waterslide and always a lifeguard on duty.
I was SO excited to go on my first ever wine tour! Marsha from Okanagan Wine Country Tours (first ever wine tour company to open here!) took us to a few of the amazing wineries in the Okanagan. We visited Cedar Creek Winery first, they have the most incredible views of the valley and a beautiful tasting room. We loved learning about all the different types of wine, how to “swirl” and taste the wine and I picked up a bottle of their delicious Rosé to take home.
Next stop was Kitsch Wines and they have the coolest story! The owner founded SAX underwear and after selling his business, opened his winery in the backyard of his parents breathtaking mansion. The wine tasting was so fun and super laid back. The staff was super friendly and we felt like we were among friends.
I highly recommend booking with Okanagan Wine Country Tours when you visit! Their fleet includes luxury SUVs, Mercedes Sprinters – the ultimate in wine touring comfort as well as Ford Transit Touring Vans.
We would love to come back and visit in the winter time! I just adore being out in the snow and Kelowna is the perfect place for a snowy destination.
Thank you so much Lincoln Canada for making our ten year anniversary trip so comfortable and making us feel like a million bucks! If you are in the market for a new vehicle, I highly recommend checking out the Nautilus and the other lineup of amazing cars they have to offer.
