Thank you Neutrogena® for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own
If you have been following me even for a short amount of time, you’ll know I love Neutrogena® and use their products daily! I wrote a post on my fall skincare routine and you can check out here if you missed it. Today, I am so excited to tell you about the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment , an at -home, two minute treatment for mild to moderate acne breakouts.
I have always been really good at taking care of my skin, but I do get breakouts from stress or around that time of the month. When I first started using the Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment, I wasn’t sure what to expect as this product was completely new to me. After reading up on it on the technology, I was excited to start using it!
Light therapy was something I never thought I could afford until now! This Light Therapy pen is super affordable and uses red and blue light technology to combat two of the major factors that contribute to acne: bacteria and inflammation. The blue light penetrates the surface of the skin to target acne-causing bacteria, and the red light goes deeper into the skin to reduce inflammation. It worked
to treat my breakout without flaking or burning. (And no scarring either!) The first thought I had before I started was “I wonder if this hurts?” Nope, not at all! You don’t feel a thing. It’s a quick and easy treatment that is chemical-free, UV-free and completely mess-free. I also love how easy it is to take with you on the go. You can literally treat pimples anywhere, like on your way to work, on your lunch break or at your desk -and it’s a pretty cool conversation starter!
The first thing you must do (after you take it out of the package) is pull the plastic battery tab from the bottom of the device. Next, you’ll want to press and hold the power button for a full second until it turns on. (it will light up pink) Place the device directly on your face, so that the light is surrounding the pimple. The great thing about this is you don’t have to set a timer, it goes off on it’s own after two minutes.
I had an event this past weekend and noticed a pimple starting to make an appearance, so I used the Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment right away and sure enough, after a few treatments, it had disappeared in time for my event. After using the device for the past three weeks, I highly recommend it! Both my sisters saw the difference on my breakouts and bought one for themselves as well.
A few tips / things to keep in mind:
- Be sure to always read and follow the label to make sure this product is for you.
- Don’t share your Light Therapy Acne Spot Treatment with anyone else, and if you do, remember to sanitize the tip that touches your skin!
- I keep my light therapy pen in a small pouch, so it doesn’t touch other things. (This is great for when you take it on the go).
- You will need to change the battery every so often.
Thanks so much for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts on this post and if you have used a light therapy treatment. And if not, let me know your thoughts on it once you have used it!
I have seen this around and wanted to try it! I always get a few around my period. Will grab one this weekend! Thanks for the rec.
