I am so excited I decided to open up and share with you all about my weight loss journey. Weight Watchers has changed my life for the better and I am so grateful! Before I begin, I want to say that weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes are completely personal. YOU decide how you feel about YOUR body, not anyone else! I want to clarify that I am not doing this for my husband, my blog or for my family. If that were the case, I would have done it years ago. I am doing this for ME. My story: I am tired of hating my body. I am tired of looking in the mirror and not loving what I see. I am tired of not wearing the clothes I want to wear because I feel uncomfortable. Guess what? No one is going to change that except for me! So I am just a girl who decided to go for her dream body. (ps. notice how I said MY dream body. This is different for everyone!)
To start from the beginning, I knew I wanted to eat healthier and make working out a priority this year. So January 1, I was prepped and all ready to start the Whole30. It went well until about the 2nd week. I was missing my coffee with cream so much that it was starting to effect my mood. I know this sounds a bit dramatic but it’s true. I decided the program was not for me but I was so thankful that I started it as it made the transition to Weight Watchers so much easier. I am already down one size!
I am that type of person that does not do well when I am limited. I think that we are meant to enjoy all types of food in moderation and that is why I love WW so much. Grocery shopping trips are fun because I scan everything and make decision right there if I want to “spend” a certain amount of points on that item. For example, a granola bar that I really enjoyed is 8sp, it made me reconsider as that’s a huge chunk of my daily points! It makes you look for alternative items which is great. In the process, I turned to fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth and it’s working! You have 42 bonus SP and that’s the ones I will use for date nights, pizza nights or any other special occasions!
Weight Watchers helped me gain control over my portions. It’s so easy to go overboard! Like take pasta for instance. I know before I started counting, I would easily eat 2-3 portions for one meal and not to mention the garlic bread and the creamy ceaser salad. All these things are OK occasionally. But certainly not everyday!
Chicken breasts, eggs, fruits & veggies are free points so I make sure to stock up on those throughout the day. Just be careful with your fruit intake you don’t want to go overboard. I typically have 2-3 servings a day.
One thing that I will not do is weigh myself. I am 100% sure it’s the reason I failed every time I started. A lot of the time, you will lose inches and feel better in your clothes but the scale won’t move much. And even though we feel the results, just because we don’t see it on the scale can be very discouraging and the situation goes something like this: “oh screw it, I am working so hard for nothing!” And then you go eat a donut. 😉 I don’t care what the scale says! I know when I reach my goal based on how I feel.
I have filmed a video on what I eat in a day from breakfast to dinner and snacks as well as some tips that I am very excited to share with you soon!
For my workout, I go kickboxing 5x a week and the other two days I do cardio. You don’t have to workout to lose weight on WW but it’s something that I really wanted to do and it feels so good after a workout is done!
Phew! That’s it for now! I am so excited to share my WW journey with you! I will have another update next month.
